Hastings resident, Robert "Bob/Brownie" Brown, 85 passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at Grand Island Veterans Home, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, November 2, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Adam White officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or AseraCare Hospice, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Bob was born November 21, 1924 in Edgar, Nebraska to Ernest Guy & Leota Josephine (Stiles) Brown. He attended Edgar High School and graduated from Hastings High School. He entered the Navy on September 13, 1943, and was honorably discharged on April 16, 1946. He married Judy Wichern Stenka on October 30, 1981. He owned his own Texaco station and worked at Montgomery Ward in the auto service department in Colorado. He also worked at Modern Linen, Gambles, City of Hastings Street Department, and Eddies Liquor. He loved bowling, fishing, roller skating, dancing, and driving stock cars in his early days. He also loved to play the harmonica and guitar all by ear. He was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Eagles Aerie #592, V.F.W., and the American Legion.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; infant daughter; adult daughter, Elaine Haller; brother, Floyd Brown; sisters, Glades Waggoner and Elsie Porter; and two nephews, Willbergene & Scott.
