Hastings resident, Robert B. Cordle, 82, died Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Monday, February 10, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Griger officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Robert B. Cordle was born September 26, 1920 in Franklin, Nebraska to Earl & Ann(Hayes) Cordle. He attended Franklin school and graduated in 1938. He later lived in California and worked at Lockheed Aircraft. He served in the United States Army during WWII as an X-ray Technician. He worked in a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri before returning to Nebraska. He began work in Hastings in 1951 at Cook's Paint Store, then moved to W. G. Pauley's Lumber company, where he worked approximately thirty years, retiring in 1982. He married Margaret E. (Ramsay) McKnight on June 4, 1952 in the First United Methodist Church. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on June 8, 2002 in Hastings. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion, Elks#159 and Elk's Country Club, all in Hastings, Nebraska.
Robert B. Cordle was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lester Cordle.
