Robert Junker

Juniata resident, Robert "Bob" J. Junker, 80, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Nebraska Heart Institute, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, December 12, 2013; 11:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Juniata, Nebraska with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial with military rites by Juniata American Legion will be in Concordia Cemetery, rural Juniata, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Wednesday, December 11, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home with family present from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Viewing will also be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Bob was born January 25, 1933 in Hastings, Nebraska to John & Christina (Schutte) Junker. He was baptized on February 5, 1933. Bob attended school at District 14, Christ Lutheran School for 7th and 8th grades where he was confirmed in 1947 and Juniata High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Koren War. Bob married Naomi Rippen on June 12, 1955; she preceded him in death on December 16, 2003. He farmed and sold farm equipment and machinery in the area for many years. Bob was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Juniata America Legion, and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hastings.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Naomi Junker; and sister, Thelma Uden.
