Hastings resident, Robert M. Loskill, 91, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at College View Assisted Living & Memory Support, Hastings, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Tuesday, November 2, 2010; 8:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 3, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 2, 2010; 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to Crosier Apostolate.
Robert was born October 5, 1919 in Roseland, Nebraska to George & Eva (Hemberger) Loskill. On November 7, 1942 he entered the Army and served in four European theatres during World War II: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He received his Purple Heart and was honorably discharged on October 12, 1945. On September 2, 1948, he married Bonnie Kissinger. He was an area farmer and livestock dealer in Adams County. He served on the Juniata School Board and Adams County Feed Grain Board. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Crosier Lay Apostolate. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion where he served two terms as Commander. He was also a member of the Eagles and a lifetime member of the Elks Club.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.
