Robert Southworth

Juniata resident, Robert "Bob" L. Southworth, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at Nebraska Heart Institute, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Memorial Service will be Friday, October 11, 2013; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church or Start Over Rover. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Bob was born February 19, 1959 in Ord, Nebraska to Eugene & Lucille (Marshall) Southworth. He grew up in Nebraska and graduated from Sargent High School in 1978. After graduating from high school, Bob moved to Hastings to attend Central Community College before starting to work at Parkview Cemetery. Bob worked for the City of Hastings at Parkview Cemetery for 32 years as a grounds keeper and maintenance worker. He married Paula Diers on June 18, 1983, in Hastings. They were married for 30 years. Their son Dustin was born June 20, 1986. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors. Some of his favorite activities were, riding four wheelers in the mountains, fishing at Waconda Lake (Glen Elder), putting in a huge garden and working with his dog, Ginger.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Southworth and sister Becky Fetters.
