Robert Marvin "Bob" Witte

Blue Hill resident Robert Marvin “Bob” Witte, 75, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at The Pines Nursing Home, Blue Hill, NE. 

Rosary will be at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Blue Hill with Father Adam Sparling officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. 

Robert was born February 14, 1949, in Nuckolls County, NE to Alvin and Charlotte (Schorer) Witte. He graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1966, he played football and was voted as Senior Class President. Robert served in the Nebraska National Guard. He married Dolores (Jackson) Bassett on April 15, 1983, in Las Vegas, NV along with Dolores’ two children, Rebecca and James; they had a daughter, Robin in 1989 and a son, Robert in 1990. Robert and Dolores later divorced. 

Robert was a hardworking and dedicated carpenter for many years who always had a project or two going. 

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and spouses, Ronald & Mary Witte, Walter & LaVera Witte, Louis Witte, and Alvin Witte; sister and spouse, Mildred & Robert Buschkoetter; brothers-in-law, Edward Rempe, Rodney Hartman, John Degener, and Russell Paulsen.
