Rocella Stromer

June 28, 1926 — September 7, 2014

Hastings resident, Rocella Bertha Stromer, 88, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, September 12, 2014; 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, west of Glenvil, Nebraska with Pastor Renee Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, west of Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 10, 2014; 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and Thursday, September 11, 2014; 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Nebraska Children's Home in Omaha, St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Rocella was born June 28, 1926 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Bertha (Muller) & Emil Stelk. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1944. Rocella married William D. Stromer on August 8, 1948; he preceded her in death on April 15, 1985. In 1948 she moved from Grand Island to Hastings. She was a homemaker and a life member of Mary Lanning Healthcare Auxiliary and Adams County Agricultural Society, member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, St. Paul's WELCA, Sugar and Spice Extension Club, was an Adams County 4-H leader, and a Good Samaritan Village volunteer.

Rocella was preceded in death by parents; husband, William D. Stromer; son, Gaylord Stromer; infant grandson, Jason Stromer; two brothers, Orland Stelk and Charles Stelk; and one sister, Sylvina Quandt.
