Rod Breckner

Hastings resident, Rod D. Breckner, 57, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at his home, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, June 20, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Tony Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Stephens Ministries at First United Methodist Church, Pioneer Spirit Bike Trail - Hastings, Nebraska or Donor's Choice. Visitation is, Tuesday June 19, 2012; 9 A.M.- 9 P.M. with family present from 6 P.M. - 8 P.M. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to service at the church.

Rod was born April 28, 1955 in Hastings, Nebraska to Richard & Doris (Portenier) Breckner. He graduated from Hastings High School and attended college at Milford Trade School for the C.A.D. program. On November 22, 1985 he married Brenda M. Sadd at First United Methodist Church, Hastings. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and involved with Stephens Ministries. Rod has worked for Pedersen Mobile, Halloran Battery And Electric, Farris Construction, Welton Woodworks, Harvs Farm Supply in Giltner and Husker Power Products where he recently retired. He was the owner of Brenda & Co. Floral in Hastings.

Rod was preceded in death by his father; Dick Breckner, 2 brothers Rick and Ron; Father-in-law Albert Sadd Jr. and Step-daughter Teri.
