Rodney M. Johnson, 53, of 308 W. 11th, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Saturday, April 14, 2001; 10:00 A. M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Earl Higgins officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Rodney M. Johnson was born June 9, 1947 in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Kenneth & Alice (Brown) Johnson. He graduated in Rapid City, South Dakota and joined the United States Navy on June 14, 1965. After his discharge on May 28, 1969, he moved to Custer, South Dakota and attended Presentation Junior College in Aberdeen, South Dakota and received an Associate Degree in Medical Technology. On August 10, 1974, he married Joan Baumberger in De Smet, South Dakota. They later divorced. They moved from Worthington, Minnesota to Hastings, Nebraska where he has lived for the last 20 years. He worked at the power plant in Worthington and helped start the power plant in Hastings, Nebraska where he was a supervisor.
Rodney M. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Thomas.

Memorial may be given to American Cancer Society
