Roger Alloway

Kenesaw resident, Roger A. Alloway, 40, of 409 S. Perkins, was called home on Monday, August 18, 2008 at University of Nebraska Medical Center - Clarkson Tower, Omaha, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, August 22, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, Nebraska with Rev. Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 20, 2008; 6PM-9PM, Thursday, August 21, 2008; 9AM-9PM with family present from 6PM-8PM at the funeral home and Friday, August 22, 2008, 1 hr. prior to service at the church.

Mr. Alloway was born January 16, 1968 in Hastings, Nebraska to Roger L. & Mary (Long) Alloway. He attended Zion Lutheran School and Hastings Senior High. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in 1982. He worked as a machine operator at Great Plains Packaging; a pressman at the Hastings Tribune & Kearney Hub; and as a technician for Executive Copier Systems. He then devoted his time to his family. On May 31, 2008, he married Shawna Martin in Hastings, Nebraska. Roger was passionate about youth baseball and coached youth and Little League teams in Hastings and Kenesaw. He was responsible for returning the American Legion Baseball Program to Kenesaw in 2004 and took his team to the State Championship Tournament in 2006. He enjoyed fishing and camping; keeping an eye on the skies and providing daily weather reports to family, friends and neighbors; cooking; taking care of the yard and garden; tinkering in the garage; and was an avid Husker fan.

Mr. Alloway was preceded in death by his father; grandfather, LeRoy Plock; and grandparents, Dale & Marie Alloway.
