Roger Moock

November 28, 1942 — November 10, 2015

Grand Island resident, Roger Roy Moock, 72, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Bryan Medical Center - East Campus, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, November 14, 2015; 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, Grand Island with Pastor Caroline Price Gibson officiating. Those attending services are asked to dress casually and drive old cars. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Saturday, November 14, 2015; 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at the church.

Roger was born November 28, 1942 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Roy & Harriet (Millbern) Moock. He graduated in 1960 from high school in Lincoln and University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1967 with Bachelor and Master degrees in education. Roger married Judy Dudley in 1968; she preceded him in death on August 12, 1987. He taught automotive mechanic classes at Grand Island Senior High from 1967 until 1995. After Roger's retirement he was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Chapman, Nebraska. Roger was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Grand Island, Nebraska Rod & Custom Association, and Vintage & Classic Wheels Car Club. He served as a boy scout leader. Roger enjoyed old cars, NASCAR, polka music, watching his son and grandson race dirt cars, was an avid Grand Island Islanders football fan, and ran a tow truck at local race tracks.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; and grandparents.
