Dorothy Maxine McCall, 69, of 2418 Madison Ave., Norfolk, Nebraska, died Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at St. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, November 17, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Earl Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska on Monday, November 19, 2001; 11:00 A.M.

Dorothy Maxine McCall was born at her grandmother Snell's home on May 25, 1932, in Republican City, Nebraska to William Leonard & Helen (Fauibon) Snell. She attended country school in Harlan County until her eighth grade graduation and then went to Phillipsburg High School, Phillipsburg, Kansas, graduating in May 1949. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1951 and then to Hastings, Nebraska in1952. She worked in restaurants and hotels until October 14, 1956, when married Charles McCall at the Methodist Church, Juniata, Nebraska. The family moved from Hastings in late 1957 to Wichita, Kansas and Aurora, Nebraska. They returned to Hastings area in 1960 and then to Juniata, Nebraska. She worked for Central Credit Bureau, Central Radio in Hastings as an IBM operator and Midwest Distributor Company. In 1970, they moved to Geneva, Nebraska where she worked at the Jack & Jill Grocery Store and later at the sewing factory at York, Nebraska until July of 1974. She then joined the Dale Electronics Inc. in York until the plant closed in 1987. She was transferred to the same company in Norfolk, Nebraska in February of 1987 and retired after 24 years of service on July 7, 1998. Dorothy had many hobbies and enjoyed sewing clothes for her family and grandsons, working with drift-wood, some other crafts and most of all, learning to read music and playing the organ. She loved her family and always had time to stop and listen.

Dorothy Maxine McCall was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Linda Wiseman and a brother, Robert Snell.

Memorial maybe given to Wood River School Athletic Department

Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
