Ronald Hoagland

Juniata resident, Ronald E. "Ron" Hoagland, 65, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017, at his home after a brief illness.

Memorial Services will be Monday, November 27, 2017; 2:00 P.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. In honor of Ron, please wear casual attire or Husker spirit. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family for distribution at a later date. His wishes were to be cremated and there will be no viewing. A book signing will be Friday, November 24, 2017; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Saturday, November 25, 2017; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Ron was born to Clyde and Donna Hoagland in Hastings on August 26, 1952. He was baptized and confirmed at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings. He attended Hastings Public Schools and graduated in 1970. He married Kathy Schaefer on May 10, 1975, at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

He owned and operated Heritage Construction for many years building custom homes, basements, and concrete work. He worked for Consolidated Concrete for five years. He then was employed by Mary Lanning Hospital as the Engineering Manager for ten years and retired in July 2015. He drove a truck for Roger Wilson Inc. driving a semi for seed corn delivery, harvest and hauling cattle and enjoyed what he did. Ron enjoyed hunting for turkey, deer, elk and wild hogs, especially with his loved ones. He also enjoyed watching Husker football and volleyball. He was a member of Four Rivers Sportsman Club, NRA, National Wild Turkey Federation, and Grand Hotel Hunt Club.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Donna; grandparents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Irvin & Frances Schaefer of Marysville, Kansas; and brother-in-law, John Schaefer.
