Ronald Strasburg, Sr

Ayr resident, Ronald Dean Strasburg, Sr., 60, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at his home after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Services will be Friday, March 9, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Thursday, March 8, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Ronald Dean Strasburg, Sr. Memorial Fund, c/o Maxine Strasburg, 12175 S. 1st Street, Ayr, NE 68925.

Ron was born May 25, 1951 in Hastings, Nebraska to William Martin & Florence Mildred (Niehaus) Strasburg. He graduated from Roseland High School and then earned his Bachelor degree in Soil Science with a minor in English from University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Ron married Maxine Weaver on June 23, 1973 at Southwood Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Ron was a member of the First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ayr Village Board, drove the church bus, and coached youth sports. Ron proudly farmed near Roseland while working at Kinder Morgan Pipeline.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, William Martin Strasburg and Florence Mildred (Niehaus) Strasburg.
