Rose Miller

Hastings resident, Rose "Rita" Miller, 86, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard.

Rosary will be Monday, March 16, 2015; 6:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 17, 2015; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery; 2:00 P.M., Roseland, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to St. Cecilia's Catholic Church or Hastings Catholic Schools Scholarship Fund . Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. until rosary at the funeral home on Monday.

Rita was born in Assumption, Nebraska on September 8, 1928 to Susan (Heuertz) and Aloysius Parr. She graduated from Roseland High School. Rita married Louis Miller on August 8, 1950 and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1991. She was a very positive person with a unique and contagious laugh. Her prayers were limitless and her faith kept her family strong. She especially enjoyed her family and reunions.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Miller; son-in-law, Don "Butch" Luther; sisters and brothers, Angie (Frank) Hemberger, Leona (Joe) Hemberger, Marie (Albert) Hemberger, Maggie (Arthur) Mangers, Edmund (Emily) Parr, Alfred (Louise) Parr, Pauline (Virgil) Mousel, Earl (Jeanette) Parr, George Parr, Laurine (Jake) Streff, Bernice (Don) Jarolimek; in-laws, Ralph (Reggie) Miller, Ray Miller, Lee Schlachter, Roy Mangers, Carol Miller Lantz and Daniel Miller.
