Hastings resident, Rosemary J. (Freimuth) Powell, 86, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at her home.
A memorial mass will be held in her honor on Friday, November 26, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be given to a charity of your choice or to Tabitha Hospice organization.
Rosemary was a long-time Hastings resident and homemaker. She passed away quietly in her home surrounded by her four daughters after a brief bout with cancer. She was born in Porterville, California on January 28, 1924 and was raised in Alliance, Nebraska, where the Freimuth clan had settled as homesteaders. She was a long-time active member and former president of the Altar Society, an avid swimmer at the Hastings YMCA, and an accomplished gardener. Her life well-lived and service to others are an inspiration to all who knew her.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane; mother, Mary A. Freimuth; and father, Joseph M. Freimuth.
