Ruth Klein

Hastings resident, Ruth Selma Klein, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, June 19, 2015; 10:30 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Marcus J. Mackay and Pastor Benjamin Siebert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund. Visitation will be Thursday, June 18, 2015; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Ruth was born June 29, 1927 in Kenesaw, Nebraska to Max Theodore & Metta Marie Christina (Augustin) Lambrecht. She was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on July 29, 1927 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, Nebraska. On April 6, 1941 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, Nebraska she was confirmed in the Christian faith and was fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus. Ruth graduated from Kenesaw High School in 1945. She married Leslie L. Klein on November 24, 1946; he preceded her in death on August 14, 1979. Ruth worked at Hastings Public Schools Cafeteria at Watson Grade School and J.M. McDonald Warehouse. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and LWML. Before her husband's death Ruth and Leslie enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Medicine Creek, after Leslie's death Ruth enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie L. Klein; brother, Alton Lambrecht; and sister, Lois Geitz.
