Hastings resident, Ruth I. Reiber, 80, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska.
Services will be Saturday, March 22, 2014; 10:30 A.M. at Berean Bible Church, Hastings with Pastor Jeff Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2014; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be given to Berean Bible Church.
Ruth was born October 16, 1933 on a farm near Bladen, Nebraska to Lester B. & Rebecca (Schiffler) Taylor. She graduated from Roseland High School and attended Hastings College and received her nursing degree from Mary Lanning School of Nursing. Ruth married Lavern Reiber on October 10, 1954 at the Nazarene Church in Hastings; he preceded her in death on April 17, 1978. She worked as a registered nurse for Mary Lanning Healthcare until her retirement in 1990 and was a greeter at Wal-Mart. Ruth was a member of Berean Bible Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lavern Reiber; son-in-law, James Spiehs; and two sisters, Harriet Thoman & Dorothy Felt.
