Ryan Struss

Hastings resident, Ryan Tyler Struss, 33, passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at BryanLGH Medical Center West, Lincoln, Nebraska following a courageous three month battle with multiple medical issues.

Services will be Tuesday, October 5, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Paul Warneke officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, October 3, 2010; 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Monday, October 4, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Lymphoma Society.

Ryan was born to Gayle & Kathy (Lipsack) Struss on November 24, 1976 in Hastings, Nebraska. Despite being born profoundly deaf, Ryan attended elementary schools in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School in 1995. He was a proud member of Cross Country and Swim teams and a member of Student Council. He attended Central Community College in Hastings and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Everyone Ryan met became his friend, and once he met you, he never forgot you.

Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, LaVerna Lipsack; and paternal grandparents, Jack & Edna Struss.
