Sandra Dittmer

Hastings resident Sandra D. Dittmer, 48, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Bryan Medical Center East, Lincoln, NE.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, at Masonic Temple – Ballroom, 411 North Hastings Avenue in Hastings with Wil Dittmer and Joe Marino officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Chips or Start Over Rover. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Sunday with family present 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the Masonic Temple.

Sandra was born September 11, 1970, in Hastings, NE to Jackie D. & Laura (Boyd) Archer. She graduated from Adams Central High School in 1988 and attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sandra married the love of her life Billy J. Dittmer on September 2, 1995, at Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings. She worked at the Hastings Convention/Visitors Bureau.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Jack Archer; brothers, Dan Archer and Joe Hopkins; sisters, Karon Lytle and Jeannie Archer; and grandparents, Henry & Ella Boyd and Glenn & Lourene Archer; and mother & father-in-law, Jack & Laverna Dittmer.

Her numerous accomplishments are varied and dear to her. Her passion for the theater and living her life with jazz hands, a plethora of books she read, and her advocacy of fur people. She had a limitless energy for her community, history, and tourism. Sandra’s enthusiasm for reconnecting with chosen family brought joy for her and to all she touched.

Since her body became limited by her illnesses she found strength and joy through her family and friends. She loved fiercely but wouldn’t hesitate to stick up for you even against yourself “I love you dearly, but…”.
