Hastings resident, Sandra Dottie Schultz, 68, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Renee Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to the Sandra Dottie Schultz memorial fund. Visitation and viewing will be only Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the funeral home.
Sandra Dottie Schultz was born December 28, 1942 in Hastings, Nebraska to Burton F. & Freda M. (McCormick) Rader. She attended Hastings Public Schools and graduated from Hastings High School in 1961. Sandra attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1961 to 1963. On July 20, 1963 she married A.R. (Bert) Schultz and was married for twenty years. Sandra helped support her husband through college by working at Baker Printing and a FM radio station in Lincoln. She lived in Houston, Texas from 1968 until she returned to Hastings in 1988. During those years she also lived in Virginia, Jakarta, Indonesia and New Orleans. Sandra worked as a CNA at Good Samaritan Village and in elder care for many Hastings families. Sandra was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hastings. She loved being with her family, traveling and dancing. Her favorite things were Elvis, fried shrimp and Tic Tacs.
Sandra Dottie Schultz was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Rader and beloved grandparents.
