Hastings resident, Sarah Brown, 98, of Perkins Pavilion, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be Thursday, July 13, 2006; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Dr. William E. Deahl, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, Nebraska.
Mrs. Brown was born October 5, 1907 in Adams County, near Pauline, Nebraska to Ed & Kate (Heeren) Anderson. She married LaVerne Brown on February 23, 1932 and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1968. She was a homemaker and a lifetime area resident. She had been a member of the Pauline Methodist Church for over 50 years and Ladies Aide in Pauline. She was most recently a member of First United Methodist Church in Hastings. She and her sister sang at funerals for a number of years in the Pauline community.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, husband, LaVerne, two sisters, one brother and a granddaughter, Cheryl Brown-Wheeler.
