Sarah Vannice

Hastings resident, Sarah Ann Vannice, 68, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska after a long battle with breast cancer.

Services will be Friday, May 23, 2014; 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Sarah was born March 1, 1946 in Sacramento, Nebraska to Delbert & Lilly (Johnson) Florom. She attended and received her GED from Holdrege High School. Sarah married Charles "Eddy" Vannice on April 19, 2002; he preceded her in death on May 28, 2005. She worked as a cook and baker for Hotel Dale in Holdrege; D & S Silo Restaurant in Alma; Knights of Columbus, Hastings; Sunny Side, Hastings; and Village Diner at Good Samaritan, Hastings. Sarah enjoyed supporting pool leagues, watching golf, playing with the grandkids, and spending time with family.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; Charles "Eddy" Vannice;brothers, Raymond Florom, Phoenix, AZ and Dean Florom, Omaha, NE; sisters, Faye Elliott, Holdrege, NE and Sharon Noland, Wichita, KS; and sister-in-law, Faye Hunt, New Iberia, LA.
