Pasadena, California resident, Sarojini Yesudas Samuel, 78, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 in Pasadena, California

Services will be Friday, June 3, 2011; 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastors Rev. A.K. Saul and Rev. Hughes Morris, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sarojini Yesudas Samuel Memorial Fund. The memorial funds will be forwarded to support the Lucille Colony Girls Hostel in Bidar, India.

Sarojini was born August 6, 1932 in Mathankeri, India to Rev. Amnappa & Paranjothi Yesudas. She attended the Methodist Girls School and worked as a teacher in Bidar and Kolar India. In 1972, she and her children moved to the United States to join her husband, the late Rev. M. Manick Samuel. Mrs. Samuel was involved in the United Methodist Women's group. She traveled throughout Nebraska doing presentations about Indian women and their culture. As a minister's wife, she served in the following churches Trumbull/Inland, Red Cloud/Inavale, Holdrege/Wilcox/Ragan, Aurora/Marquette and Minden/Upland. She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife and mother.
