Hastings resident, Sevila Mae "Vi" Branting, 87, passed away, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.
Services will be Thursday, September 10, 2015; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Chaplain Damen Heitmann officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church orAlzheimer's Research. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Private condolences may be sent at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family.
Vi was born May 27, 1928 in Central City, Nebraska to George & Minnie (Getz) Webb. She attended Central City Schools and married Gerald B. Branting on August 28, 1947 at Osceola, Nebraska. Gerald preceded her in death on August 8, 2014. They lived in Grand Island, Nebraska from 1947 until moving to Hastings in October of 1961. Vi was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a past member of Hastings Bowling Association. Vi enjoyed bowling, dancing, cards, crocheting, embroidering and gardening.
Vi Branting was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Gerald B. Branting, sisters; Lurean McConnell, Mary Lakey, brothers; Andrew Krug and Robert Krug.
