Shirley Heye

Hastings resident, Shirley Ann (Utecht) Heye, 75, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Graveside services will be Monday, April 26, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, Glenvil with Pastor Renee Johnson. Visitation will be Sunday, April 25, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family; a memorial will be established at a later date.

Shirley was born in Upland, Nebraska in March of 1935 to Walter M. & Elizabeth (Bott) Utecht. She was a housewife and a loving mother. Shirley was married to Merlin Heye on February 12, 1955 in Hastings. Two sons, Steven and Andrew were born in the following years to complete her family. Mr. Heye's career took the family to live in several cities throughout the United States. Shirley lived in Omaha, Nebraska; Louisville, Kentucky; Nashville, Tennessee; Cincinnati, Ohio; Jacksonville and West Palm Beach, Florida; and Washington D.C. over a 35 year span.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Lavern, Lloyd, Harold, Virgil, Delbert, and Roger Utecht.
