Shirley Lukas

Hastings resident, Shirley A. Lukas, 83, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at her home.

Services will be Tuesday, November 27, 2012; 10:30 A.M. at All Saints Chapel, Good Samaritan Village, Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips and Pastor Dustin Bower officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Hospice, c/o Carol Edwards, 715 N. St. Joseph Avenue, Hastings, Nebraska 68901. Visitation will be Monday, November 26, 2012; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present at Butler Volland Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service at All Saints Chapel.

Shirley was born June 2, 1929 to Ralph L. & Edna Lillian Bowers. Shirley attended Hastings High School and was an accomplished dancer, artist and porcelain painter. She was a member of the First Christian Church and was an active member of Hastings China Belles for many years. In addition to china painting, Shirley enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, oil painting, and playing with her little dog, Sugar. During her life, Shirley worked at Bert's Drugstore, Brach Thompson Department Store, Allen's, J.M. McDonald's, and as a realtor for Gateway Realty. During the latter years of her life, she was a full time homemaker.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Bowers; and infant siblings, Bobby & Betty Bowers.
