Shirley Rucker , 64, of 1512 Crestmoor Dr., Hastings, Nebraska, died Sunday, July 22, 2001 at BryanLGH East Medical Center, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Service will be Thursday, July 26, 2001; 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Sam Rathod & Rev. Doug Griger officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Shirley Rucker was born February 21, 1937 in Furnas County, Nebraska to Albert & Lottie (Ridpath) Hilker. She attended rural grade school in Furnas & Gosper counties. She graduated from Holbrook High School in 1954 and McCook Jr. College, McCook, Nebraska in 1956. She taught school in Wauneta, Nebraska. On May 26, 1957, she married Morland Dean Rucker in Arapaho, Nebraska. She worked at Gold's Department Store, Lincoln, Nebraska while Morland attended college. They moved from Red Cloud, Nebraska in 1961 to Hastings, Nebraska. She worked as the ice cream lady at Hastings Middle School for 11 years and also Good Samaritan Village in housekeeping for 2 years and at Keith's Medical Park Pharmacy for 7 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and Homemakers Anonymous Extension Club, Hastings, Nebraska.

Shirley Rucker was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial maybe given to Rural Ranchers 4-H Club or First United Methodist Church -Elevator Fund

Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
