Juniata resident, Shuford C. Camby, 83, of 700 North Adams, died Friday, June 16, 2006 at his home.
Services will be Wednesday, June 21, 2006; 10:30 A.M. at United Methodist Church, Juniata, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.
Mr. Camby was born August 14, 1922 in Nantahala Township, North Carolina to William & Carrie (McHan) Camby. He graduated from high school and served in the United States Army during WWII from March 5, 1943 until February 18, 1946. On December 21, 1943, he married Wanda Norris in Nelson, Nebraska and she preceded him in death on January 31, 2000. They moved to Juniata, Nebraska in 1976. He was a truck driver for Coffee Transfer in Alma, Nebraska and for Burlington Northern Truck Lines, Hastings, Nebraska for 20 years. He was also a janitor for The Plainsman and Juniata Elementary School until his retirement. He was a member of United Methodist Church and a life member of the Eagles.
Mr. Camby was preceded in death by parents, two sisters and four brothers.
