Simon Smith

Hastings resident Simon F. Smith, 21, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, in Phoenix,  Arizona.

Memorial Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating with a luncheon to follow at the Eagles Club, 107 North Denver, Hastings. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Simon F. Smith Memorial for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Simon was born July 25, 1997, to Eric Smith & Brandi (Rowe) Cress in Paradise Valley, AZ. He graduated from Hastings High School in 2015 and attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE and was in the lineman program. Simon was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Simon loved spending time with his family and that he was the only boy of four sisters. He also loved his friends and to hunt, fish, dance, hike, ski, play guitar, bonfires, driving his truck “Black Betty”, and longboarding. He was proud of his time in the utility line program and his many tattoos.

Simon was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Rowe; paternal grandfather, Gene Smith; grandfather, Dave Lounsbury; and best friend, Matt Hull.
