Stanley DeLashmutt

Hastings resident, Stanley "Stan" C. DeLashmutt, 50, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at his home after battling cancer for ten months.

Memorial services will be Saturday, February 18, 2012; 3:00 P.M. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Hastings with Pastor Barry Rempp officiating. There will be no visitation; book signing will be held Thursday and Friday; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to AseraCare Hospice for patients in need or to Burwell Schools.

Stan was born April 23, 1961 in Burwell, Nebraska to Leslie "Bud" F. & Marguerite (Grunkemeyer) DeLashmutt. He graduated from Burwell High School in 1979 and received his Associates Degree from Southeast Community College in Lincoln. Stan served with the National Air Guard from 1980 until 1986. He married Kathleen "Kathy" Johnson on June 15, 1985 in Hastings. Stan worked as the business manager for Sunrise Express in Grand Island; and was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and Ducks Unlimited. Stan enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Sandhills and Burwell area.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; and step-mother, Beth DeLashmutt.
