Stella Tressa Koch, 95, of Blue Hill Care Center, died Monday, February 5, 2001 at Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska.
Services will be Monday, February 12, 2001; 2:00 P.M. at Presbyterian Church, Campbell, Nebraska with Rev. Mark Diehl officiating. Burial will be in Presbyterian Cemetery, Campbell, Nebraska.
Stella T. Koch was born May 18, 1905 in Hickman, Nebraska to Joseph & Florence (Watson) Brunke. She grew up and graduated from Hickman High School. She attended Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma teachers sorority. Later, the family moved to Campbell, Nebraska where she taught rural school until her marriage to Fredrick Carl Koch on April 18, 1923 in the Presbyterian Church, Campbell, Nebraska. The young couple settled on a farm south of Campbell, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in 1980. During the depression, the family left the farm and moved to Hastings, Nebraska. She taught in a rural school near the Hastings Airport. During these years, she worked diligently toward her bachelor's degree at Hastings College. She then took a teaching position in the Hastings Public Schools at Longfellow Elementary School where she endeared herself to hundreds of student who were in her classroom. Stella enjoyed letters, cards, phone calls and visits from former students who held her in high regard. In later years, a fall and failing health made it necessary for her to move first into an assisted living facility and finally into a care center. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hastings, Nebraska.
Stella T. Koch was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fredrick, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Memorial maybe given to Presbyterian Church-Campbell, NE
