Thelma Marr

Hastings resident Thelma L. Marr, 90, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, with family by her side at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE after a stay at College View.

Rosary is 9:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Jeremy Hazuka officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Michael’s Catholic Church or Hastings Public Library. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Thelma was born March 1, 1928, in Lawrence, NE to Roland R. “Rollie” & Mary Elizabeth (Schumm) Jorn. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1945. Thelma married Doran D. Marr on July 10, 1952, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence; he preceded her in death on August 15, 2013.

Thelma taught grade school after graduation in Deweese and was employed at Dana Perfect Circle Inspection for 11 years. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and former member of Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doran D. Marr; grandson, Scott Reineke; two brothers; and one sister.
