Omaha resident, Thomas Ralph Mangers, 61, passed away August 17, 2017 at his home in Omaha, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Friday, August 25, 2017; 7:00 P.M. and Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 26, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Roseland with Father Jonathan Haschke officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery, Roseland. Memorials may be given to Thomas R. Mangers Memorial Fund. There will be no viewing or visitation as Tom's body was cremated.
Tom was born February 26, 1956 in Hastings, Nebraska to Josephine (Schumm) Mangers and Francis Mangers of Roseland, Nebraska. Tom was Salutatorian of his graduating class of 1974 at Roseland Public School, and excelled in several sports. He attended Hastings Community College and went to work for Metz Baking Company in Hastings, Nebraska. Tom married Pamela Brophy December 7, 1974 at the Sacred Heart Church in Roseland, Nebraska. Tom and Pam had two children, Angela and Mitchell Mangers.
Tom was the Shipping Foreman at Metz Baking Company and accepted a relocation opportunity with Metz's sister company, Taystee Bakery, in Detroit Michigan in 1989. Tom and his family returned to Hastings, Nebraska in October of 1992 where he continued to work for Metz Baking Company. Tom later moved to Omaha, Nebraska to work for Keebler. He enjoyed supporting and spending time with his family, was a member of the Eagles club and enjoyed dancing, watching Husker football, and enjoyed buying and remodeling houses in his spare time.
