Tom Lang

Hastings resident, Tom J. Lang, 37, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Monday, September 13, 2010; 7:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 14, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, September 12, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Monday, September 13, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the YMCA or Smith Softball Complex for a memorial to be established.

Tom was born August 2, 1973 in Hastings, Nebraska to LeRoy E. & Joyce E. (Synek) Lang. He graduated from Adams Central High School in 1991 and received his Bachelor's degree in history from Hastings College in 1995. He worked route sales for Boyd's Vending and helped maintain the grounds at Morrison Enterprises for 27 years. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and enjoyed playing basketball and softball. Tom cherished his time with his nieces and nephew going fishing and watching their sporting events. He also enjoyed Husker football and attending the games in Lincoln.

Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents; and niece, Carah Mae Lang.
