Hastings resident, Valda Francis Gross, 91, of 1705 W. 12th St. died Monday, May 1, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, May 3, 2006; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Dr. William E. Deahl, Jr. officiating. Private family burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mrs. Gross was born October 20, 1914 in Barneston, Nebraska to Frank & Anna (Seidel) Malicky. She graduated from Burwell High School, Burwell, Nebraska. On October 18, 1937, she married Alvin William Gross in Burwell, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Fortnightly Study Club, Tehama Shrine Hospital Auxiliary, Tehama Shrine Masonic Center, Adams County Historical Society, Acacia Chapter #39 Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter GK P.E.O., Sewing Club and South Central Nebraska Czech Society.

Mrs. Gross was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Charlene Warder and two brothers, Melvin & Marvin Malicky.

Son & Daughter-in-law: Dr. Howard Eugene 'Gene' & Inge Gross - Orlando, FL
Grandchildren: Scott Warder - Washington D.C.
Wendy Warder - Washington D.C.

Sister: Marie Remillard - Livermore, CA
Brother: Harold 'Bus' Malicky - Burwell, NE
Several Nieces & Nephews

Memorial may be given to Shriner's Hospital for Children
