Valentine Beyke

Hastings resident, Valentine J. Beyke, 100, of Perkins Pavilion, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion.

Rosary will be Monday, October 16, 2006; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 17, 2006; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Ralph Schipp officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials to Perkins Pavilion at Good Samaritan Village. Visitation will be Sunday, October 15, 2006; 1PM-6PM & Monday, October 16, 2006; 9AM-9PM at the funeral home & Tuesday, October 17, 2006; 1 hr. prior to service at the church.

Mr. Beyke was born February 14, 1906 in Lawrence, Nebraska to John & Annie (Krebsbach) Beyke. He attended Lawrence school. He moved to Ferdinand, Indiana

and worked in the family business, Ferdinand Iron Works. On September 6, 1927, he married Ida Marie Kitten in Ferdinand, Indiana. They moved to Pauline, Nebraska, where he began farming. After retiring from the farm, he moved into Hastings and worked for Fleming Manufacturing in Hastings. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Mr. Beyke was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ida, sisters, Florentine Jacobs and Mary Alice Harig, brother Oliver Beyke, one grandson, David Beyke and a great grandson, Travis Black.
