Vernon Purcell

Vernon W. Purcell, 87, of 233 N. Hastings Ave, The Kensington, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Friday, October 31, 2003; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Vernon W. Purcell was born April 18, 1916 in Jewell County Kansas to Joseph B. & Mollie E. (Suther) Purcell. As a young man, he started helping as a farm hand in both Kansas and Nebraska. He married Wilma Howe in Pawnee City, Nebraska on May 14, 1936. They farmed around Pawnee City until 1957. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1957 and he worked for the City of Hastings, Street Department until his retirement in 1976. They moved back to Jewell County, Kansas in 1976 and returned to Hastings, Nebraska in 1990.

Vernon W. Purcell was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jim, an infant brother, Joseph, a granddaughter, Denise and two grandsons, Randy & Craig.

Norma Imler - Juniata, NE
Numerous Nieces & Nephews

Memorial may be given to Family's Choice

Fri. 10-31-03; 9am until service time
