Violet Schmitt

Violet F. Schmitt, 93, of 233 N. Hastings #605, Hastings, Nebraska, went to the Lord, Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at The Kensington.

Services will be Monday, May 19, 2003; 1:00 P.M. at United Methodist Church, Daykin, Nebraska with Rev. Glen Holtz & Rev. Baldeo Singh officiating. Burial will be in Eureka Cemetery, rural Daykin, Nebraska.

Violet F. Schmitt was born November 14, 1909 in Jefferson County, near Daykin, Nebraska to William A. & Elizabeth E. (Mulinix) Houck. She graduated from Daykin High School in 1928. On December 28, 1928, she married Winford D. Schmitt and he preceded her in death in 1985. They farmed near Daykin until their retirement. She was a homemaker and active in the Women's Group of the Daykin United Methodist Church, Farmer's Wives and a past member of Flying Farmers. She moved to The Kensington at Hastings, Nebraska in September of 1989 and continued her hobbies of music, painting as well as quilting with the First United Methodist ladies at Hastings.

Violet F. Schmitt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Winford and a daughter, Winifred.
