Violette Preitauer

June 12, 1919 — November 5, 2008

Hastings resident, Violette R. Preitauer, 89, of Perkins Pavilion, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion.

Service will be Monday, November 10, 2008; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be Monday, November 10, 2008; 2:30 P.M. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska with Rev. Randy Dilts officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, November 8, 2008; 1:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M., Sunday, November 9, 2008; 1:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. with family present from 3:00 P.M-5:00 P.M. and Monday, November 10, 2008; 1 hr. prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials are to donor's choice.

Mrs. Preitauer was born June 12, 1919 in Norman, Nebraska to Hans & Ruth (Johnson) Nielsen. She graduated from Minden High School, Minden, Nebraska. She was a bookkeeper for JM McDonald Corporation 33 years and then Pamida for 3 years, both in Holdrege, Nebraska before retiring in 1982. On November 7, 1982, she married Edward R. Preitauer in Holdrege and he preceded her in death in August of 2000. She moved from Gothenburg, Nebraska to Hastings in September of 2006. She lived at the Villa before moving to Perkins Pavilion. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary from 1982-2000, both in Gothenburg.

Mrs. Preitauer was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sisters, Phyllis Labart & Iola Rhone; brother, Wesley Nielsen and a nephew, Bruce Labart.
