Virgil Kennis

Virgil L. Kennis, 70, of 621 Lane C, Good Samaritan Village, died Friday, November 10, 2000 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Tuesday, November 14, 2000; 11:00 A.M. at All Saints Chapel, Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Bill Liddell officiating. Graveside services with military rites and burial will be Saturday, November 18, 2000; 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa.

Virgil L. Kennis was born March 16, 1930 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Frank & Eugennia Kennis. He graduated from Ottumwa High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War from September 7, 1948 to June 23, 1952. He married Esther Barnhill on November 23, 1952. They moved from St. Paul, Minnesota to Hastings, Nebraska in 1973. He worked for Great Plains Packaging and was a member of the American Legion Club, Hastings, Nebraska.

Virgil L. Kennis was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include, Wife, Esther Kennis - Hastings, NE; Daughters, June Phillips - Cottage Grove, MN, Rhonda Pyle - Monticello, IN; Grandchildren, 5; Great Grandchild,1; Brothers, Donald Kennis - Ottumwa, IA, Lawrence Kennis - Ottumwa, IA
