Hastings resident, Virginia Kay Anderson, 78, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Haven Home in Kenesaw, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, February 10, 2012; 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Tony Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Thursday, February 9, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or Special Olympics.
Virginia was born November 5, 1933 in Springfield, Missouri to John & Ruby (Kays) Romans. She graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Missouri; she received her nursing degree from Burge Hospital and psychology degree from University of Nebraska at Kearney. Virginia married Don Anderson on December 31, 1960 at First Congregational Church in Lebanon, Missouri. She worked as a registered nurse at Burge Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, the hospital in Lebanon, Missouri, and the Hastings Regional Center. Virginia was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a volunteer for the Special Olympics. She liked to crochet, knit, and garden.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents.
