Virginia Ginter

Hastings resident Virginia R. Ginter, 75, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.

Celebration of Life is 2 p.m. Thursday, January 16, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Virginia was born April 1, 1944, near Hastings, NE to Virgil & Edith (Wermeskerch) Means. She graduated from Glenvil High School in 1962. Virginia married Bob Ginter on July 14, 1962; he preceded her in death on March 4, 1998.

Virginia worked hard all her life, including one job for over 40 years. She especially enjoyed working at K-Mart in the shoe department. Her favorite place to be was in her backyard with her cherished pets, Buddy, Sissy, and Abby. Virginia was known as Gin or Ginny, or GG to her beloved great-grandsons. She was a very kind, big-hearted person. Virginia took care of many people through the years including her parents and her in-laws.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Ginter; two infant sons, Robbie and Stevie; brother, Larry Means; sister, Judie Weber; and niece, Bonnie Weber.
