Virginia Grothen

July 19, 1945 — October 11, 2014

Hastings resident, Virginia "Ginger" F. Grothen, 69, lost her battle with cancer Saturday, October 11, 2014.

Memorial services will be Thursday, October 16, 2014; 10:30 A. M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, with Pastor Joel Remmers and Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Elks Club, 3050 East South Street, Hastings, Nebraska. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the Elks Christmas Fund.

Ginger was born July 19, 1945 in Kearney, Nebraska to William & Opal (Vest) Gressett. She was raised in Kearney and attended Kearney High School. She married Dale Grothen in 1986 at Reno, Nevada. Ginger worked as a bookkeeper for Central Soya and Nebraskaland Distributing. She was an avid golfer and very involved at the Elks Club.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents and step father, Larry Gates.
