Vyonna Fowler

Hastings resident, Vyonna L. Fowler, 81, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Monday, April 14, 2008; 2:00 P.M. at the Hayes Center Congregational Church, Hayes Center, Nebraska with Pastor Jean Miller officiating. Burial will be in Hayes Center Cemetery, Hayes Center, Nebraska. Memorials to the family to be given to Hospice Care. Visitation will be Sunday, April 13, 2008; Noon-4PM at Butler-Volland Funeral Home in Hastings and Monday, April 14, 2008, 1 hr. prior to service at the Hayes Center Congregational Church, Hayes Center, Nebraska.

Mrs. Fowler was born April 29, 1926 in Palisade, Nebraska to Lynn & Ruth (Mellott) Christner. She graduated from Hayes County High School, Hayes Center, Nebraska and taught country school for two years. In 1945, she married her high school sweetheart, Dale M. Fowler. They worked on the family farm and later operated the local grocery store. They then moved to Hastings and later retired at Lake McConaughy.

Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by parents; husband, Dale, one brother, one grandson and one great granddaughter.
