Hastings resident, Wallace Hopp, 87, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at his home.
Services will be Friday, April 29, 2011; 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, with Pastor Tom Osborne officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2011; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to First Christian Church or donor's choice.
Wallace was born July 6, 1923 in Hastings, Nebraska to John & Alice (Schreiner) Hopp. He graduated from Hastings High School and attended University of Nebraska Lincoln. Wallace served in the U.S. Army from February 4, 1943 until November 8, 1945. On May 5, 1943, he married Seva B. Booker; she preceded him in death on December 1, 1994. Wallace worked as a car salesman for Laird Motors and A.H. Jones. He was a member of First Christian Church, Nebraska Golf Association, and V.F.W.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Seva B. Hopp; brothers, Albert "Ruff" Hopp, Johnny Hopp, Harry Hopp, and Bill Hopp; and sisters, Delores Yeager and Mary Alice Mudder.
