Pauline resident Ward J. “Shorty” Snow, 92, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, NE.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 10, at All Saints Chapel – Good Samaritan Village in Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Blue Valley Cemetery in Ayr. Memorials may be given to Blue Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday with family present 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at All Saints Chapel.
Ward was born August 7, 1926, in Glenvil, NE to John E. & Sophia D. (Kahman) Snow. He graduated from Hastings High School. Ward married Betty M. Smidt on October 25, 1947; she preceded him in death on January 9, 2016. He farmed in the area for many years. Ward was a member of Pauline Methodist Church.
After retirement, he started the Tin Tower Trader Antiques in Pauline. Ward and Betty enjoyed traveling to look for antiques. They made many friends along the way.
Ward was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty M. Snow; grandson, Mark Nitzel; and brother, Dale Snow.
