Warren Hamer

June 21, 1948 — February 22, 2003

Warren Keith Hamer, 54, of 604 N. Adams, Juniata, Nebraska, died Saturday, February 22, 2003 at his home.

Services will be Wednesday, February 26, 2003; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Ken Christensen officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.

Warren Keith Hamer was born June 21, 1948 in council Bluffs, Iowa to Orvil & Faye (Cargill) Hamer. He grew up in Scotia, Nebraska and attended North Loup Scotia Elementary School. He graduated from Nebraska Christian High School, Central City, Nebraska in 1966. He attended Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska and enlisted in the United States Navy in December of 1966. In November of 1967, he graduated from the Naval Technical Training Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He was stationed at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida and spent 2 months in Puerto Rico. In July of 1968, he was injured in an auto accident in Florida and spent 16 months in various hospitals. On May 6, 1971, he married Kathryn McKimmey. They moved to Juniata, Nebraska from Scotia, Nebraska in 1972. He then attended Central Community College, Hastings, Nebraska. He did farm work for various people and also did odd jobs. He was a member of the Juniata Lions Club, a life member of DAV and a past American Legion member.

Warren Keith Hamer was preceded in death by his mother in June of 1997, father-in-law, Bud McKimmey in February 2003 and his grandparents.

Tue. 2-25-03; 2pm-9pm with family present 6:30-8pm
Wed. 2-26-03; 9am until service time
