Waunita Walker

Hastings resident, Waunita Moreen Walker, 90, of 3125 Paradise Drive, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at her home.

Services will be Tuesday, June 30, 2009; 2:00 P.M. at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ Church with Rev. Dr. Judith Allen officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to First Christian Church. Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2009; 1:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Tuesday, June 30, 2009; 1 hour prior to service at the church.

Mrs. Walker was born May 7, 1919 in Davenport, Nebraska to Leo & Nellie (Caton) Keeler. She attended Davenport and Hastings Public Schools and married Fred K. Walker on January 2, 1937 in Smith Center, Kansas and he passed away Febuary 4, 2002. She was employed by Queen City Café, Hested's, Naval Ammunition Depot and then managed the Wintergarden Ballroom from 1950-1960. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ Church.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; son, DeWayne Walker; grandson, Christopher Walker, one sister and three brothers.
