Wayne Ernst

Hastings resident, Wayne S. Ernst, 63, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his home peacefully surrounded by his family.

Memorial Services will be Monday, September 19, 2016; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Cancer Society for cancer research. Visitation will be Sunday, September 18, 2016; 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. with family present at the funeral home.

Wayne was born April 15, 1953 in Kearney County, Nebraska to Donald R. & Elna Juneve (Olsen) Ernst. He married Marilyn K. Sorensen on November 24, 1972. Wayne was employed at NAPA as a machinist, until his illness. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and sibling, Linda Downing.
